Vibration dampening (structure borne)

Materials for reducing resonance and structure borne sound

Structure borne sound dampening materials are comparatively thin and compact. The structure borne dampening effect is created by the high weight of the material - or by the use of special visco-elastic materials.

The materials prevent, that the structure-borne sound, which can occur because of vibrations, for instance in thin plate constructions, machine guards and the like, will convert into airborne sound.  

Important:
The material sticks better on clean surfaces (if necessary do use acetone for wipe of). The material shall be mounted at at least 20ºC.

Used for lighter structure borne sound dampening by lamination with for instance polyether B028.

2mm specialty cardboard.

 

Weight:  1,6 kg/m2.
 

Despite its low density, this material has excellent qualities for dampening structure borne sound because of a special surface coating. It is well suited for structure borne sound dampening in constructions where limitation of weight is of particularly importance.
